Lochgelly 3rd April Report

10 cars made it out for the start of the meeting at Lochgelly on 3rd April including 2 English drivers, Mark Smith and Ross Eaton.
Stuart Gilchrist got away very quickly in heat 1 as Ross Eaton got a puncture and dropped to the back. Points leader David Frame retired with engine problems which would keep him out of the rest of the meeting.  Gilchrist was really going well despite being chased by the English Champion Smith and it was these 2 who finished first and second followed by the very quick looking Gav Millar.
The loss of David Frame to the meeting was replaced with another driver turning up for heat 2 to make ten cars once again. This heat was easily the best of the day. Millar got away well from the yellows and began to build up a lead that was too big for anyone to do anything about. Gilchrist once again was chasing well with Ross Eaton, Mark Smith, Colin Frame and Steve Donovan all having a good battle. Gilchrist retired with a broken halfshaft as Mark Smith cleared the group to take up second behind the flying Millar. Ross Eaton was in third until a last bend lunge from Frame wich gave Colin the place and allowed Donovan to get through for fourth followed by the recovered Eaton.
The final was missing Eaton due to engine problems and the racing was much more spaces out. Millar once again was flying up front until he ran out of petrol handing the lead to the experienced Gilchrist. Mark Smith was taking up the chase in third to try and catch second placed Liam Bruce who was going well too. Gilchrist ended up the winner by quite some way, Mark Smith just failing to take second from Bruce with Donovan coming home fourth.

Definatley some way to go in Scotland for the superstox, but the drivers out there are keen to see it suceed, and all were extremely helpful and thankful to the English drivers for making the trip.
